What do Avocados and Mangos Have to Do with You . ..

I loved when my aunt and uncle would come to visit us from Saint Petersburg.

It always meant delicious food.

Oranges, bananas, kiwis, Nutella, different exquisite cheeses, and occasionally some unknown vegetables like a round brown thing with a soft and gooey green inside.

Only when I moved to the USA, I learned those were avocados.

When the fridge is usually empty or half-empty, you tend to appreciate those rare belly feasts..

I remember, my constant biggest desire was to have enough food in the fridge. Many of those days being hungry, when all you have is cabbage and potatoes.

I cherished those rare moments when we could enjoy exotic food for us like bananas, oranges, yogurts, etc..

You don’t really need much for happiness, when you are a kid.

When I came to the USA, I absolutely loved the abundance in the huge American markets.

Initially, I couldn’t buy everything I wanted from the supermarkets, but I truly enjoyed that atmosphere.

I remember my excitement when I first tried mango. Juicy and sweet. It was the most delicious fruit I’ve ever tasted.
