No Dream is Too Big…
Journey from a small Ukrainian town to the land of opportunities…
The 4th of July is a very special day for me. It is the day of Independence of the country that has given me so much… The land of the free and the brave, and the place where dreams come true…
I will never forget the day when I pledged the allegiance to the United States of America.
After having lived for 8 years in America, facing challenges and victories, experiencing heartbreaks and gaining invaluable life lessons, failing and succeeding, making mistakes and becoming wiser, but constantly growing and expanding myself, I couldn’t be more proud, humble and blessed to finally become an American citizen…
Holding the star-spangled banner and listening to the major historic and cultural events of the USA, I was thinking, “America is truly the land where dreams come true!” I had a warm pleasant sensation filling my soul.
It wasn’t just obtaining my second nationality and getting the second passport. It was the realisation of the impossible dream for a Ukrainian girl from a poor family in a small village.
Coming to the land of opportunities by myself in the pursuit of a better life and freedom was a mission impossible for a girl whose family didn’t have two pennies to rob together.
