It is Good to Have Some Tension
Have you ever told yourself, “I will be happy if or when….”
I know I have. Especially when I was a kid.
I used to wait for those pay days mom and dad would have ( once every 3 -4 months)
Bear in mind, we are talking about 90s in Ukraine after the collapse of the USSR. And you either got rich through some shady ways, or you were doomed for survival.
Anyhow, a rare pay day meant full fridge, at least for a week. I loved and cherished those days, when I could have some chocolate or bananas and yogurt as a snack.
I used to dream and imagine, what it would feel like to be able to buy anything I wanted from a food shop.
That was one of the definitions of happiness for me, growing up in a poor Ukrainian village.
We never starved ( since we had a small garden with veggies and fruits), but we rarely could afford delicious treats, sweets, cheese, or anything really that wasn’t from our garden.
That hunger however ( often in its literal sense) was a blessing in disguise.
There was a huge between where I was and where I wanted to be.
I became so motivated to figure out how to close that gap.
