What turns my stomach is when I see my FB newsfeed riddled with BS aggressive advertising, in the likes of: sign up for me secret method of how to make 10, 20, 60, or even 100K over the next 30 days without much effort…
What about integrity, ethics, and good old-fashioned “add value to people”?
I know, all those shiny and promising offers are utter nonsense, simply because that’s not how life works according to the laws of nature. First of all, there is never something for nothing. You have to put effort in whatever you wish to achieve. It is the law of life: cause and effect and the exchange of energy.
However, out of curiosity and an experiment I did sign up for some of those pseudo gurus to see what is on the other side. The promise for golden mountains is a stepping stone for a webinar or a free call, which is a huge and vile sales pitch: I have created a program which has helped so many people earn big bucks in a short time. So, you too can give me 10–30K, and I will reveal to you how it is done.
They are painting the picture in such bright colours, giving their absolute promise that you too can make your 100K next month if you just know how. It is impossible to resist for a naive mind that has no idea that they are being brainwashed and deceived…
I have no problem with selling and helping people. What I have problem with is selling people to a dream without actually explaining what it takes to get there.
I am absolutely convinced: every person can create and enjoy their dreams; we all have unlimited potential that needs tapping. And if there is a desire for becoming, doing and having more there is a possibility for bringing it forward.
However, it is not easy to achieve great success: there is a lot of struggle, especially an internal one; there are limiting beliefs that need to be transformed; there are skills that need to be developed; there are failures that need to be overcome; there is mental toughness that need to be developed; and there is time required for your dream to be manifested just like there is time, nourishment and process required for an acorn to grow into an oak tree.
Now, what most of those “gurus” are doing is they are showing you how to use either click funnels or kajabi (they are both user-friendly platforms that allow you to build landing pages to sell your info products), which are designed for a level of a 5-year old to understand. Besides, those platforms have a customer service support in addition to lots of tutorials and how-to steps.
Another aspect of those high ticket programs is “they hold you accountable” Basically, telling you, “you can do it”.
Those pseudo mentors are not that worried about the skillsets you have, your qualifications, your experience, or a basic knowledge of human psychology if you aim to help people. None of that matters. According to their “ground-breaking” discoveries, all you have to do is believe you can and you can sell any kind of bull crap with zero substance if you package it in the impossible to resist way.
A good example of an eye-catching packaging: I will show you how to generate 50K over the next 15 days without hassle, special knowledge or smart technology.
That is the biggest lie, but unfortunately the most paid lie, because people buy into that BS.
It really makes my blood boil because there are so many people that buy into those hogwash promises with no value or meaningful substance. And they are either getting burnt, because that not how life success works, and get disappointed with the coaching industry in general.
Or they are turned into the same overnight “gurus” with a neanderthal “you’ve got to take action, man” approach and charging other people top dollars for that bull crap…
I am not going to mention any names, but the internet if full of those trolls that claim to be marketing experts.
What happened to really adding value to people? What happened to helping them transform their life? If you teach a person how to charge five figures for garbage, that is not transformation. That’s manipulation…
What happened to a good old “get good first” approach? Why do we place the value of money over the value of impact?
I am all for helping people create wealth. Wealth gives freedom, options, and better choices. But, please do it in an ethical way. Don’t rob other people!
I have been to many conferences when people were brought to the stage and literally forced to buy 25K mentorship program, which was basically a dog’s dinner.
It was breaking my heart because those people were opening several credit cards to be able to finance that false promise of a dream. So, instead of investing in their personal development, they were giving money to those “gurus”, who would further tell them, “You’ve got to do it!”
Don’t get me wrong, there are many good high-ticket mentorship programs out there. But they never fail to mention the law of process; they tell you upfront: you need to grow and expand yourself, your thinking, your creativity. And it takes time to become more, so you can get more. They help you overcome your limiting beliefs that are in conflict with your desires. They encourage you and push you to overcome the inside and outside blockers.
Bother to study the laws of nature if you want to achieve success, happiness, freedom fulfilment! Don’t waste your money on those big, shiny, and impossible promises. If it sounds too good to be true, it probably is!
Invest in yourself and in mentors who are authentic, genuine and transparent in what value they will add to you if you start working with them.
If you live your life from the place of integrity, everything will align.
