I would like to share a story of one of the ladies I used to know. Let’s call her Rosaline. Rosaline was a beautiful girl: smart, intelligent, talented. She was a model, and quite a successful one. From the outside, she looked like she had everything going on for her. She even won the beauty pageant. But shortly after the public recognition and getting the prise, she was suffering from the devastating consequences of anorexia.

For many girls, the idea of going to photo-shoots, participating in fashion shows, and being pretty and smiling sounds like a dream. But that dream turned into a nightmare for Rosaline that almost cost her life.

I remember, I had a conversation with Rosaline after she thankfully conquered that horrible addiction.

I asked her, “During that dreadful time, did you realise what you were doing to yourself?”

“Oh, yes. But I was trying so hard to please everyone else around me to get their approval, and I was trying to please myself that I just ended up just damaging myself.” She responded.
