Have you ever thought that the actual achievement of your goals is not what you really want or need? It is not even going to make you happy… It sounds controversial but it is true.
We are really not after the “thing” or a trophy…
Believe it or not, what gives us great joy and happiness is the realisation that we have achieved our dream. The sense that we have earned it.
If everything was to arrive quickly and easily, there would be no growth. And today, we would be all we are ever going to be. That should be quite an alarming thought to any growth-orientated person.
What’s more, we wouldn’t appreciate our dreams. Imagine being denied the appreciation of living your dream, and the appreciation of yourself in creating it. Could there be a more devastating denial?
